Grabbing that Mom-Boss opportunity

Since joining Grab two years ago and relocating to Vietnam from Singapore, Bui Thu Ha’s life has taken a delightful turn when she embraced motherhood.

When I embarked on my maternity leave, little did I know the rollercoaster ride that awaited me. Those initial months were intense, filled with sleepless nights and the challenges of adjusting to life with a newborn. Some weeks were so overwhelming that I couldn’t even step outside my home, which often left me feeling down. My incredible team at Grab Vietnam extended their love and support, making a significant difference in my experience. They surprised me with gift boxes for my newborn, complete with adorable Grab onesies. These gestures made me feel like my baby was already a part of the Grab family, and it warmed my heart.

Returning to work after maternity leave was both exciting and challenging. The Parents at Grab Inclusion Community and various engagement activities and well-being workshops organised by Grab’s Learning & Development and Engagement teams have been instrumental in helping me find balance and reduce stress. Along with that, my team ensured a smooth reintegration into work life. Their support and consideration made me feel confident and empowered as I stepped back into my role.

Being a working mother comes with its fair share of challenges. There are nights with very little sleep, and the demands of work and theresponsibilities of being a new mother often intertwine, but Grab’s flexible hybrid working policy has been a game-changer, allowing me to strike a balance between both. With convenient nursing rooms in the office to express milk during work hours, a monthly GrabLove allowance, and comprehensive health insurance coverage to ensure the well-being of my family, I can focus on my work with peace of mind. Grab has created an environment where working mothers can thrive. I am grateful to be a part of a company that values its employees’ well-being, embraces flexibility, and fosters a culture of empathy and understanding. My journey as a working mother has been challenging, but it has also been immensely rewarding, and I am excited to see what my future at Grab holds.
