The Grab Public Affairs and Policy Team is a forward-looking team that's actively shaping the future of technology and society in Southeast Asia. We build partnerships with governments in support of national policy agendas, engage constructively with government and other stakeholders on public policy discussions, and drive initiatives to harness the positive potential of technology to create impact in Southeast Asia.

The Singapore Public Affairs and Policy team drives strategies, and orchestrates Grab’s engagements in support of matters related to public policy and the national agenda in Singapore. It also supports GrabHQ and the Singapore business’ interactions with the Singapore government, community stakeholders and the public policy community. 

Specific areas of focus include: 

  • Engagements with the government and legislators on matters related to Grab’s businesses

  • In-house policy development with regional teams on matters related to data, gig economy and “big tech” regulation, and with product and business teams and on product, plans, and platform policies 

  • Distilling and clarifying complex public policy issues for the public and Grab’s business leaders 

  • Regulatory consultations for Grab’s businesses, which span transport, deliveries, and financial services 

  • Engagements with the wider public policy community on technology and socio-political developments related to platforms 

  • Working with cross-Grab teams to prioritise Grab’s partnerships in support of the government and community of Singapore 

Get to know the Role:

We are looking to hire a Head of Public Affairs for Singapore. You will play an important role in supporting Grab’s engagements with the Singapore Government and community stakeholders. 

The day-to-day activities:

  • Define, and execute the strategy for engagement with government, legislators and trade associations 

  • Provide counsel to Grab’s leaders on Grab’s business priorities and plans

  • Manage a team of managers and assistant managers in the team

  • Serve as Grab's liaison with public stakeholders and represent Grab as needed 

  • Collaborate with local and regional Grab teams to plan, launch, execute public affairs initiatives and/or campaigns.

The must haves:

  • At least 10 years of experience in public and / or government affairs in Singapore in either public policy, regulatory, or digital roles

  • Experience managing a team

  • Familiarity with the government’s priorities, and political developments in Singapore 

  • Passionate about making a positive impact to the community 

  • Experience working with or in the private sector

  • A proactive attitude to problem solve for emerging risks and seeking out new opportunities, and to review and adjust plans in an agile manner

  • Comfortable to lead and guide cross-team initiatives
